I’ve learned something about myself that is not particularly flattering: specifically – I have an ongoing case of amnesia and that I rarely look back. If you were to reread these week to week e-mails, you would soon realize I’m all the time looking ahead. This week, for a moment, I want to reexamine this past Sunday. During second service, when we came out of the 2-3 minutes of dialogue and prayer time I was overwhelmed with emotions as (I wish you had the vantage point that I had) I went back up to speak in that there were several couples and families on their knees in prayer together. Lord God Almighty – thank You! Thank You for driving us to our knees. Thank You for moving in families, marriages, households, and individuals.
It was also great to witness Kyle Teter giving his life to the Lord and being baptized into Christ. We rejoice with his parents Mike and Kammie, and brothers Ryan and John.
It was also great to have a picture perfect day at an incredible location for a picnic. Thanks to Jim and Melanie Abernathy, Bill Goins, Max Sell, Jeff and Denise Stotler, Dan and Carolyn Howell, Marlowe Schlegel, Bill Fussner, Tony Bradshaw (and whoever else I’m leaving out) for helping to make this an excellent connection event.
This Sunday we finish the “Me and My House” series. I’m giving you the head’s up now – this Sunday will take on a very different feel than other services in that we’ll give our offerings toward the front end of the service, have worship connection with God, dive into hearing from Him, examine our lives and make some decisions, have a concentrated time of prayer and then – on a personal level enter into the connection with Christ in communion. I want to encourage you to be praying on a personal level about the roadblocks that are keeping you from experiencing God in that first chair type of way. God wants Forum to experience revival – from week 3 in the series: revival occurs when a church moves “en mass” toward the first chair. Let’s experience that together this Sunday.
Here are some upcoming ministry opportunities:
Oct. 12th – High School will be tailgating before the Rock Bridge/Hickman game
Oct. 19th & 20th – Jr. High Retreat “Looking for Action Heroes”
Oct. 27th – VIP Fall Foliage Trip
Oct. 31st – Fall Festival for 5th grade and under
I’m excited about what God is doing in your lives. Can’t wait to worship with you this Sunday.
