e-news for week of 1/13/08 - 1/19/08

Greetings Forum family. I hope that you had a good week and were able to stay warm as the winter weather seems to have returned for another go-round. I also hope that you were able to go about being the church at its best as was the challenge from last week’s sermon. Whether you made an effort to pray more with your family, enjoyed fellowship together in your life group, invited someone into your home, or made an effort to share the message of Jesus with someone you know, I hope this past week went well.

I am excited about Sunday’s sermon as we will read and study together the story of Barnabas (Acts 4:32-37) as well as the story of Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11). It is my hope that this story will be told in a way that is thought-provoking and inspiring for Forum as a faith community as we continue to endeavor to be the church at its best.

One last thought, as we continue to talk about the beauty of the local church, I can’t think of a better time to extend an invitation for some friends or neighbors to come and worship with us together on Sunday mornings.

I will leave you with an amazing number for us to think about. Do you realize that if each of us could bring a friend to Forum we could double as a faith community in a single week? Although such a growth might be significant from a numbers standpoint, I think the exciting thing would be the opportunity to be a growing and expanding community that would tell others about Jesus Christ.

So let’s get out there and start sharing the good news!
