I’m really looking forward to this weekend for a lot of reasons. One of them is the reality that our preschool kiddos are going to be part of the worship experience this weekend. There is something so pure and uncorrupted by children when they praise the Lord. There’s an innocence and a heartfelt expression they bring to God that makes me envious (if there’s a way to do that and not sin) of them. Envious of the awe and childlike wonder they have as they praise God.
I also want to update you on our search for a full time children’s director. We are zeroing in. The Lord has led us to some totally excellent people and I know that God is always our leader. I constantly strive to keep my eyes focused on Him. I remind myself – “this is His church, these are His children, He is the one who directs our paths.” I also appreciate those parents who have intentionally networked to pray about this important area of ministry at Forum.
As ever, I’m excited about being in God’s word. Frankly and honestly, I didn’t expect the response from so many of you connected to this sermon. Let me give you a middle of the week encouragement to keep your attitude up, lifted, and elevated when it comes to God’s stuff. I just met with one of the brand new people who God led here and she shared how God has and is providing and taking care of her and her family. My friends, God is good – all the time. Never lose sight of that truth. We’ve also gotten great input from several life groups who are in the study as well. I do think this series is of God’s timing for a lot of reasons and I hope you will allow the leading of God’s Spirit in your life when it comes to the area of stewardship. This week we’ll talk about the B segment of this series. It’ll help you in so many ways.
Here are some upcoming ministry options for you and your family, let me encourage you to use these to help you to grow in Christ:
Women of the congregation can sign up this Sunday to enjoy a relaxed evening of faith, food and fellowship. On April 18th beginning at 6:30 there will be a catered dinner (cost $11) followed by “Women of Faith” Conference videos. Invite your girlfriends – guests welcome!
On Sunday, April 27th at 6:00 p.m. our Children’s and Bridge Choirs will present “Good News Cruise.” This will be an enjoyable evening for the whole family.
Vacation Bible School is coming up June 9 – 13th. Things are coming together well but we need lots of helpers to make this a week that the kids will remember. Please contact Pam Tamerius or Jessie Spellman to join in this ministry.
If you can give an hour on Sunday morning to help in the children’s area, (nursery – 5th grade) please give Pam or Jessie a call as well. It takes almost 50 individuals every Sunday to staff this ministry.
There is also another Men of Impact gathering coming up in the near future. Be watching for more details on this.
I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday! Scott
