Intentionally connecting people to Jesus.
Let those words absorb into your soul.
Strive to live those words daily in your life. Your life matters. Your life counts. You have the capacity to make a difference in people’s eternities. Jesus said, “As you go into all the world” (Matthew 28:18 translated) As you go to work, to school, to your family, shopping, with your friends – make an eternal difference in their lives. Connect them to God.
As a ministry, we strive to live these words – aggressively, with intent, with discipline.
Live seismic lives. Allow God to shake and move you.
Toward that end, let me encourage you to heighten emphasis leading up to Easter.
This Saturday we’ll paint the auditorium as well as various areas throughout the building. This will start at 7:00 a.m. (donuts provided.) Any time you can give will help. I thank you in advance for serving.
We’ll celebrate Palm Sunday on the 16th. The choir will lead out with a worship celebration in second and third services. This powerful event will help you to experience God’s transformational power of life change. That morning – in the sermon – and then in life groups or on a personal level we’ll all work on developing our personal testimony. You’ve got a story to tell and we’ll help you learn to tell it.
Good Friday, March 21, we’ll center in on the power of the cross. We’ll worship together at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. It will be an evening of worship and will hopefully give you a face to face type of encounter with Jesus.
There will be a family event on Saturday, March 22 from 10:00 to 11:30. This is open to all children 5th grade and younger with their families. It will be a time of worship, drama, hunting Easter eggs, games, crafts, and a lot of family fun. The theme for this year is “Child of the King” so come dressed in your royal best – girls come as a princess, boys come as a mighty warrior or prince. This would be another great event to invite other families to attend.
Then on Easter we’ll celebrate Christ’s triumph in all three morning services. We’ll create an e-mail invitation for you to send out to friends to invite them. We’ll also create some on paper for those of you who would like to invite friends or family.
All of these efforts arise from “Intentionally connecting people to Jesus.” That is what we live by as a church and as individuals.
Don’t forget this Sunday our time changes. Set the coffee pot an hour earlier with an extra strong dose to help you “spring forward.” This Sunday we look at how seismic events can cause great confusion on the part of people. God gives clarity and we’ll focus on clearness and purpose for life this Sunday.
I truly look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday.
