Over the next couple of weeks, we’re going to be in a series called, “The ABC’s of Financial Success.” The aim of this series is to help all of us focus in on kingdom matters and come to a deeper following of Christ. Over the past several weeks I’ve had a bunch of questions connected to this series and I want to talk about them in case they are shared questions:
Q: Are we doing this because we’re going to have a capital campaign for multisite?
A: No – the one thing has nothing to do with the other. This series is designed to help every person to grow in the ability to manage and best utilize what God entrusts us with.
Q: Are you going to teach from the Bible or from Barry Cameron’s book?
A: All authority comes from God’s word. Barry has taken principles out of God’s word and the book is companion material for the series. There hasn’t been a message I’ve preached that hasn’t come from God’s word and I don’t intend to start now. Read and study the book to help you grow to be a great manager of the assets and talents God has given you.
Q: Is this only about money and are you focusing only on money?
A: No. As ever the focus is on God and on your heart. This series will help you to grow in trusting and connecting to God.
And speaking of stewardship of time – this Sunday there will be a meeting connected to Vacation Bible School. The meeting will be in the Jr. Worship Room (room 115) at 4:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for anyone to come and find out what this year’s Vacation Bible School will look like and what to expect. Our vision will be cast and specific needs will be explained. So we invite you to come whether you are a parent, a potential volunteer, or just willing to collect some needed items and do some behind the scenes footwork. It takes us all to have a successful week.
I also want to welcome Charmayne Patrick, Emily Smith, and Brian and Micalah Thayer who transferred their membership to Forum and Kyle Martin who was baptized into Christ after third service.
We’ve also got a “Pizza with the Pastors” event this Sunday night April 6th from 5:00to 7:00 p.m. in room 104/106. Childcare will be provided. This is an introductory time to learn more about Forum and ask questions that you might have.
God is on the move here and I am so thankful He’s leading us. I’m excited to see how all of us grow as we go through this series. Look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday. Scott
