e-news for week of 4/27/08 - 5/ 3/08

It’s mid-year and I’m already reflective of what God is doing here at Forum. Just some quick factoids:

· As a church, we went over 800 on a non-Easter/non-Christmas Sunday and have been up over 750 a bunch this year. (As I’ve said in the past and for the future – I don’t have a deep value for numbers in that there are 6 BILLION people on the planet and God knows everyone of them by name.)

· The Lord continues to lead people to us. People who are seeking, people who want to serve, and people who love the Lord. It’s a great day.

· Planning and prayer for a second ministry location continue to be made – and, although as a leadership we have not put in front of the body the overall details, those will be coming very soon. Big picture – we’ve already got people who are aligning with this dream. It’s a great day.

· We’ve got a full array of summer stuff for our youth and children. It’s going to be a great day.

· The Lord led us a new Children’s director. Her name is Katelyn Morris and she is a Central Christian College graduate with a degree in Christian Education. Currently she and her husband Tyler are serving with a church plant in Bowling Green, Missouri. She will start with us on June 1. Katelyn grew up in Quincy, Illinois where her family is part of the church now called, “The Crossing” (formerly called Payson Road Christian church). Tyler grew up in Vandalia, Missouri and is also a Central Graduate. It’s a great day.

· We want to welcome Jeff and Susan Brawley to the Forum family. They placed their membership with Forum this last Sunday.

Vacation Bible School (Jerusalem Marketplace) will be an exciting adventure for the whole family. We hope to have many parents stick around and experience the evening as a family. The dates are Monday, June 9th through Friday, June 13th from 6:15 – 8:30 p.m. Pre-registration begins this Sunday.

Many of you have already had your family picture taken for our church directory. If you haven’t had a chance to get that done, please stop by in the Family Life Center this Sunday and let Dana or Anne take your picture. The pictures are looking great and it will be so nice to have them to help all of us put names with faces.

This Sunday night will be another Pizza with the Pastors night. It will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in room 104/106 and is a great opportunity for you to learn about the overall teaching of Forum as well as a time to ask questions you might have. Childcare will be provided.

I could go on and on about what God is doing here. I’m looking forward to finishing the ABC’s series this Sunday with “E” and “Encouragement.” I know this series has helped so many of you and I thank God for that. I thank Him that He gave us insight as to how to manage and navigate this earth. He gave us His son. He gives and provides daily for us. He’s a great God and it’s a great day! Can’t wait to worship with you this Sunday. Scott
