e-news for week of 7/13 - 7/19

Hey Gang,

I truly hope you are having a great summer! As a church, we are having a stellar summer in so many ways. God is working all over the place in so many lives - I just wish I had space to talk about it all. I feel like the gospel writer John where he says something like, "If all the things that Jesus did were written in a book, all the books in the world couldn't contain it all." God continues to change lives, to elevate us as a church, and to put in front of us a great vision to intentionally connect people to Jesus.

I've had several lunches here lately with people that are new to Forum - people talking about being baptized, joining, etc. and there is an across the board excitement of what God is doing, how He is impacting their lives, and what a great church Forum is.

I also want thank you for the great feedback from last Sunday's sermon. This series is soooooo important for a lot of reasons. The biggest reason is that as a church we must have both high commitment, high capacity, and high unity in order to truly pull off what God has put in front of us to impact Columbia. I think God has a great fall out in front of us with a bunch of fun and joy along the road coupled with great challenge. I'm personally up for the ride, how about you?

I also want to comment about the way God has brought together a really fun and servant hearted staff. I'm writing at 12:07 a.m. on Thursday night after having served at a 5,6 grade week of camp with Jody Riley - our Junior High minister, my daughter Natasha, Justin Keith - our Senior High minister, DJ Pittman, Diana Grayson, and Dave Holtgraeve. It was a blast - mainly because Jody - who was the dean - put together a great week. It's great to see our staff in action - they are a great team.

This Sunday we continue in the "Behind the Music" series (BTW - the video this past Sunday was just toooo funny - shout out to Justin Keith for that) with a message titled, "The backstage pass." Do you realize the access you have with the Lord? Do you realize the power that is at work in your life? Do you understand the capacity and potential at work in your life? I hope Sunday you'll get a deeper glimpse and a spiritual boost.
