Momentum. Recently I was preaching about the Holy Spirit driving and propelling the church – of us having momentum. After the message, Tom Dresser came up to me and gave me a note that I carry around with me as a reminder:
“In physics, momentum = mass x velocity.
Spiritually, mass = number of people
Velocity = activity of people
If you don’t increase the # of people or activity with people, you are not increasing your momentum, you’re coasting.”
As a ministry, I’m glad we are striving to do both. In a month and a half, we will start our north campus at the Hilton Garden and Convention Center. Publicity will begin going out. We are going to be a part of the Boys and Girls Club Chili Cook off on February 21 that will also be a great community connection piece.
I would encourage everyone to come to our Pep Rally on Tuesday night, February 3, at 6:30 for a time of hearing the game plan/strategy, to get involved by praying corporately, to find out how you might even serve.
I also want to encourage all who are in third service to perpetually move toward the middle of the sections on Sunday morning. We’ve been at 86-91% full over the past weeks and actually grabbed chairs this past Sunday. Momentum.
This Sunday we’re going to explore the road trip question, “Are we there yet?” If ever you have dealt with impatience and loss of perspective – this will be a great message for you to hear. It is a great message of hope and sovereignty that is going to help a lot of people. Hope you can be here. -- Scott
