You’re going to hear this a lot from me. It shouldn’t be a new concept – but for whatever reason, it struck me fresh. Jesus is the smartest person that ever lived. I’m not talking about just the wisest – but rather – the smartest. Whatever field of study you are in – he’s first in your field. Smartest person that ever lived and ever will live.
Think about it.
The smartest.
His body of knowledge is unparallel and unexcelled. Smartest person who ever lived.
Get this: the smartest person invites you to be his apprentice and learn life from him. Are you going to take him up on it?
As we continue in the Real Life…Real People…Real Answers we continue on in James 2: 14-26 this week. We have a homework assignment for you this week – clear out clothes you are no longer using and give them away to the Salvation Army. We will be helping Harbor House (a family shelter) with clothing, laundry soap, and adult bikes. We will have collection locations at both campuses. Friends – this completely aligns with God’s word for us for the day – go ahead and read it ahead of time.
Over the next month, you’ll receive detailed information about internal facility changes and upgrades that need to be made to better facilitate ministry. Facilities facilitate. We want to help our facility better facilitate ministry especially to our children. With utmost clarity – the primary reason we are doing this is to help our children’s and youth ministry to do better ministry. We have good facilities now – we want to take it up a notch. Overall, this project will cost about $50,000. The elders decided that when the first $20,000 comes in, we will then begin the upgrades.
Next Tuesday starts our Vacation Bible School program. Katelyn and Jessie have an outstanding program planned for 4 year olds through 5th grade. They are encouraging family participation as they study different aspects of worship. The theme for the week is Worship Is… We will finish on Friday with a special concert by Seeds Family Worship. You won’t want to miss this!
Can’t wait to worship with you this Sunday – see you then. Scott
