e-news for week of 8/2/09

Thanks for the great response to this Multiple Choice series so far. God wants you to be the very best decision maker you can be. I would encourage you to pick out one great decision you’ve made within your life and analyze it. What thoughts were you thinking? What did you weigh into that decision? What were the multiple paths you saw in front of you at that moment? How did God and his word come into play?

Please, keep in front of you this great decision template:

Is it written?

Is it on God’s agenda?

Is it born out of love?

If you want to get a jumpstart on Sunday – 1 Corinthians 10:13, Romans 12: 1, 2, and Philippians 1:9-11 will give you a quick glimpse. I want to remind you one more time – you have access – back stage, direct access to the greatest decision maker this planet has ever known. As a church, as church leaders, and on an individual basis – as a pastor, husband, father, Rotarian, board member of some institutions, etc. we all have the ability to pray – to seek out insight from the word of God – to view our decisions in light of love. I don’t know about you, but it elevates me for sure. God is so very good and His promises and precepts are always in our best interest.

Some ultra cool stuff coming up for the fall that I want you to note:

Casual Sunday Tailgate Party – On August 30 everyone is invited to wear casual clothes and stay for a tailgate party after 3rd service at South Campus. Forum will provide hotdogs and brats. Please bring side dishes and drinks. If you want other meat you can bring a grill and cook it here.

Can’t wait to worship with you this Sunday. — Scott
