As we finish VIII this Sunday, I’m so glad you’ve been encouraged and uplifted during this series. Friends, our country and our world are enduring some dark and shaky times. As ever, I’m hopeful; hopeful because of Jesus Christ. Not hopeful because of the lifestyle I live in because I’m a citizen of the United States, but hopeful because of my kingdom citizenship. Hopeful because Jesus conquered the grave and He lives. Hopeful because Christ saved me from my sins. Don’t lose sight of your true hope. All other hopes and dreams for your life, for your family, for your friends pale in comparison to the hope of heaven. My friends, God is with you.
Several things on the horizon:
We’ll be going through the process of affirming elders and deacons over the next month. We’ll be posting names, pictures and brief bios over the next couple of weeks.
I want to thank the security team at church for the continued advancement and improvement helping Forum as a ministry to perpetually move forward. About half the staff and several deacons were trained this week in CPR and defibrillators and we’ll have a defibrillator on site in the near future. Safety is a high priority for our children, youth, and you.
I also want to highlight the great job the ministry to children and youth are doing this fall. Some of the learning and innovations both in the morning elements and the evening have helped to inspire and connect your kids to Jesus.
As Tarry Koutz has laid out the vision for the Christmas season, I get very thrilled because it’s a wonderful thing to see a ministry unify around a ministry opportunity. The skill and vision Tarry brings to the table are phenomenal, but he needs every age group with all kinds of skill sets for this to come together. It will be a great blessing and will help to connect people to Jesus. Check out the Sunday bulletin for the details.
