E-news for week of 10/25/09

The Sweet Spot. Are you hitting it this week? Just a reminder: spend one minute in prayer with your spouse, your children, spend one minute in prayer for a coworker, a friend, or even an acquaintance. Spent one minute in Proverbs – let me help for today: “A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly destroyed – without remedy.” (Proverbs 29:1) [Okay, maybe not the most uplifting verse in the world – however, it sure is fair warning to lower pride and not be resistant to God’s word, eh?]

This week we’ll explore maximizing who God designed us to be. Once again, what would happen if we all “click” at one moment? If we are all dialed into God’s will for one single moment? One minute? One hour?

Elder and Deacon Affirmation will be Sunday, November 15, 2009. Men that have answered the call to serve in 2010: elders - Jim Ferneau, Dan Howell and Ken Sears; deacons - David Abbott, Jim Abernathy, Jeff Bilbro, Jeff Brawley, Brandon Campbell, Chris Collier, Steve Cowan, Tim Crockett, Ted Fletcher, Jeff Hemme, Roger Higginbotham, Jim Jackson, Jeremy McBee, and John Wilhoit. The elders have screened these men and present them for your affirmation. Please pray for these men and God’s guidance as you consider them. If for some scriptural reason you believe any of these men are not suitable for service, contact an elder.

The eldership at Forum will be commissioning Caleb and Jackie Sellers to the mission field on November 15. The Sellers are in their final language training phase and will soon be in West Africa, as Bible translators for Bible-less people of that area. The eldership invites you to bring a covered dish and join them in a sending luncheon for the Sellers family after the third service.

Ready, Set, Snow! Women’s event to raise awareness and money for Missions. Thursday, November 5 in the FLC at 6:30 p.m. Bundle up and enjoy the warmth of friendship and help us raise some cold cash for Forum Missions. Register today at the Information Center.

Looking forward to a great day of worship with you this Sunday. — Scott
