e-news for week of 2/7/10

It’s a joy to serve the Lord with you. Let me encourage you to intentionally “Hello” (purposefully interact) with someone between now and Sunday. Invite them to church. Connect with them over lunch. Elevate an attitude. Make a difference in someone’s life.

Last Sunday was the first week of the new times for the earlier service at the south campus. Help me out in that, as leaders, we can only be in one place at one time. If there’s anything we need to be aware of logistically, please let me know so we can help to make the Sunday morning experience as great as we can. Just email me at scott@forumchristian.org and let me know what you observed.

Sunday was a fun and challenging day. Fun in that it was great to see Stephanie Neves and Savannah Schnabel baptized into Christ. (Savannah’s older sister baptized her.) There’s been a lot of fun lately as people are giving their lives to Jesus, being baptized. The week before Katelyn Morris, our children’s minister, baptized Dasha Schauwecker into Christ. Thanks for the great feedback connected to the message. It’s been ongoing throughout the week. God’s word is challenging and elevating.

This week we’re going to examine one of the root and core issues connected to our planet. Read all of John 8 this week and see if you can spot it. Someone observantly asked me, “Do you realize all the sermon titles you used lately are questions?” Great observation. The “Hello” series really focuses on the questions Jesus asks different people in different circumstances. The reality behind the question that we look at this week is going to smack all of us right across the forehead.
On the horizon:

Pizza with the Pastors February 21 from 5-6:30. This event will happen in the Connecting Place right off of the auditorium. It’s designed to help those who are relatively new to Forum to get a picture as to what Forum is about.
Looking forward to worshiping God this Sunday! I hope you are too. — Scott
