e-news for week of 8/8/10

Thanks for:

• the great feedback about the one day VBS. Make sure you thank Jessie@forumchristian.org and katelyn@forumchristian.org for all they do.
• the compliments connected to the new layout for the children’s areas. The new flow truly helps families. The computer check-ins that will be forthcoming will help the process go that much smoother. From a security standpoint this is also a much better layout.
• the encouragement about the Paradox series. As a church, we focus on Jesus Christ. We lift him up. We put His teaching in front of all of us. This Sunday we’ll look at Matthew 13 if you want to read ahead.
• Brice Wurdeman being with us sharing with our adult classes the great work that his family is involved with in Haiti.
• The great response for the young people from the Show-Me Christian Children’s Home. We view them as one of our ministry partners. As a church it is a privilege to help and serve this ministry with its great impact.


Some upcoming ministry events that I want to mention to you. You’ll be getting a full newsletter that gives greater details:

• Family “Movie Night” at 6 p.m. in the gym, August 20.
• Neighborhood canvassing on August 28. See the newsletter for the details.
• Tailgate party on August 29 at South Campus.
• Large worship gathering at North Campus 10:30 September 5.
• Life group sign ups and kick off early September.
• Junior High and Senior High youth ministries kick off on August 22.
• Choirs for adults and children kick off as well in September.
• We are hosting a 5K event (read the newsletter when it comes out) that will coincide with the overarching theme for 10-11, “Your personal best.”
